METRÒNOM
Rafael Tous installed Metrònom art room in an old cured ham warehouse just behind the Born market, in Fusina Street. The building had previously been an indian products store, but the “jabugo” ham smell had annihilated time ago the aroma of tea and coffee.
Metrònom Rafael Tous Art Contemporary Foundation was founded as a pioneering concept in the art scene in Barcelona in 80's. It served as an important cultural city dynamic. Created by initiative of collector Rafael Tous, Metrònom was not just a nonprofit exhibition of contemporary art, but an experimental and a production platform supporting the emerging artists.
During 25 years, his unconventional, avant-garde, internationally renowned programming included exibitions linked to plastic art, installation, video, photography, experimental music, contemporary dance, theater, film or performance .
